The Green Lizard in the Backyard - Nature 180

The Green lizard often appears in our backyard during the summer months, and the little critter looks quite charming.

Image 01 - A little critter.

We saw the lizards catch insects, and interestingly they consume the bugs that try to eat the leaves.

It’s a pretty charming behavior, and it’s one of the reasons we love having green lizards around our yard.

From Google, we have several species of Green Lizards, few of them are:
Green Treefrog Lookalikes
- Green Anole
- Knight Anole

We may observe this critter on the plants that provide shelter and insects (their foods) at our yards.

From the name, you might guess where the flower come from. Yes, the come from Africa, brought to USA about 150 years ago.

The Original flower is the African Violet (Saintpaulia ionantha), then developed to many varieties,

In our city, Baton Rouge, we have several varieties which I think with two well known for traded:
- Cajun’s Lil Joy
- Cajun popcorn

The flowers feel suitable to grow in our hot and humid climate, especially during summer months.
