The little tortoise (Box turtle) come to visit us a couple days ago. We offered some carrots and water.

She didn’t seem too interested. She enjoyed a bit of sunshine on the balcony and then wandered off.
The Box turtles are native to our state. In nature, they consume:
- insects (caterpillars, grasshoppers etc)
- mollusk (snails and slugs)
- earthworms.
- small animals.
Actually, the box turtles may consume vegetation and fruit as well.

DeleteDesde siempre me dieron miedo las tortugas y no sé el motivo, recuerdo que una íntima amiga mia de pequeña en su casa tenía una pequeñita y cuando bajaba a su casa , le decía , por favor, metela en una habitación , era superior a mí.

ReplyDeleteNice photos of the turtle. We had one years ago; my children used to play with it, and it would move around the flowerpots until one day it just disappeared.
